C.T. Harris Electrical was founded in 1983 by Gil Harris and Tom Mehan after completing an apprenticeship program through the TBA (Tidewater Builders Association), With Gil’s expertise as a Journeyman Electrician and Tom’s front office knowledge, they started with just a $600 work truck and $83 in capital.

Specializing in both residential and commercial electrical work, their first significant client was D & R Pools, which marked the beginning of their success. Over time, they expanded to include new construction, renovations, and service calls. After years of growth, Tom Mehan left to become an Electrical Inspector, leaving Gil as the sole proprietor. Despite this change, their friendship endures.

C.T. Harris Electrical has since become a trusted provider in the Hampton Roads Area, Virginia, servicing residential and commercial clients alike. Their services range from updating outdated wiring and installing new appliances to handling tenant buildouts for various types of businesses. They collaborate with Residential Real Estate Offices and Commercial Real Estate Companies, ensuring safety and comfort for their clients.
